A Year of Celebration Patch
In February 2010, the Boy Scouts of America will celebrate 100 years as an organization. For 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America has created a strong foundation of leadership, service, and community for millions of America's youth. Through A Year of Celebration, A Century of Making a Difference, we will demonstrate the incredible impact of a century of living the Scout Law. As we celebrate , we not only reflect on our rich history, but lay the foundation for a strong future, as well.
Cub Scouts will earn recognition for making a difference in their communities due to their dedication to five of Scouting's core values: Leadership, Character, Community Service, Achievement, and the Outdoors. Through that commitment, participants can earn each of five award ribbons to display from our 100th Anniversary commemorative patch. A Year of Celebration will take place from September 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010.
Read the Year of Celebration page to learn more.
Friends of Scouting

Friends of Scouting is the Los Angeles Area Council's fundraiser. Friends of Scouting is a voluntary donation program in which your donations are used to help subsidize camperships and fund activities, including those that our Pack participates in such as the Cabrillo Day camp, Cub Scout resident camp and other District and Council events. The donations are also used to help maintain the camps that we and others attend such as Forest Lawn Scout Reservation, Cabrillo Beach Waterfront Center and Firestone Scout Reservation. It also helps less fortunate boys stay involved in Scouts.
If you are interested in making a donation, please submit the attached brochure along with a check payable to BSA to Susan Holton or Mario Di Sandro. The cost of funding a Scout for one year is $130, however, you may donate what ever you wish.
Cub Scouts are encouraged to donate as well using funds they earned by doing chores around the house or collecting change from items taken to the recycling center.
Go to our Events page for a full list of upcoming activities.
