Palm Canyon

It’s time for the spring campout! There is still space available. If you are interested in attending the Anza Borrego campout at Palm Canyon Campground, please contact Mario Di Sandro and provide payment of $20 per family payable to Pack 759.

To get to the campground take Interstate 15 South to Highway 79 and go East toward S2/S22 and the city of Borrego Springs. From S22, turn left at Palm Canyon Drive. Approximately drive time from Manhattan Beach is 3 hours. More specific directions are here.

Planned activities include a Pack hike on the Palm Canyon nature trail to the palm grove and oasis, Pack campfire, nature exploration, visitor center and other activities.

Temperatures on the days of the campout are expected to be in the mid 80’s. So, please prepare for warm weather. You can find weater updates at Weather.com.

The Palm Canyon Campground is located 2 miles west of Borrego Springs and has hiking trails nearby, including the trail to the Palm oasis. Additional information about the campground can be found here. And, information about Anza Borrego State Park in general can be found here.

Please make sure that your Scouts don’t forget to pack the 10 essentials:

First aid kit	Whistle
Filled water bottle	Map and compass
Flashlight	Rain gear
Trail food	Pocket knife (with card)
Sunscreen	Matches or firestarters

Also, bring firewood for morning and evening campfires.
