Cottonwood

 

 

 

It’s time for the spring campout. There is still space available. If you are interested in attending the Cottonwood campout, please contact Tracy and provide payment of $20 per family payable to Pack 759.

 

To get to the campground take Interstate 10 East. Exit Cottonwood Springs Road (approximately 15 miles East of Indio) and turn left. The campground is approximately 7 miles from I-10 just off of Cotton Springs Road. Approximately drive time from Manhattan Beach is 3 hours. More specific directions are here.

 

Activities available include hiking, campfire, nature exploration and other activities.

 

Temperatures on the days of the campout are expected to be in the upper 70’s to low 80’s. So, please prepare for warm daytime weather and cool night temperatures. You can find weater updates at Weather.com.

 

Joshua Tree2Cottonwood campground is located in the Cottonwood Springs area and has several hiking trails nearby. Additional information about the campground can be found here. And, information about Joshua Tree National Park in general can be found here.

 

Please make sure that your Scouts don’t forget to pack the 10 essentials:

 

  • First aid kit
  • Whistle
  • Filled water bottle
  • Map and compass
  • Flashlight
  • Rain gear
  • Trail food
  • Pocket knife (with card)
  • Sunscreen
  • Matches or firestarters

Also, bring firewood for morning and evening campfires.
